I Found a Place...

Look, I know how this sounds, but you gotta understand, it’s massive in there.
All these rooms, it’s like a maze, it just goes on and on and on and on…
Our latest map takes Kisten Royale somewhere a little… stranger.
Gone are the open courtyards and city streets. Instead, you’ll find yourself wandering an endless maze of unsettling yellow hallways, flickering lights, and suspiciously familiar carpet. Every turn could lead to your team’s salvation, or straight into a pitfall.
The Backrooms map is built around confusion, exploration, and taking risks. Navigation is no longer as simple as “go left” or “meet in the middle.” You’ll need to learn the layout, watch your surroundings, and maybe accept that you’re going to get hopelessly lost at least once. Or twice.
Probably more. If the hallways start looking familiar... you're probably already lost.
Unlike our previous maps, the Backrooms constantly challenge your sense of direction. Narrow corridors create chaotic close-quarters encounters, while hidden pitfalls punish players who charge ahead without thinking.
Whether you’re sneaking behind enemy lines for a daring box steal or desperately searching for your own base again, every match tells a different story.
More Than Just a New Map
This update also includes a couple of welcome improvements:
- Fixed a bug where the intro on the City Map wouldn’t play correctly.
- Improved the multiplayer server browser by showing which map every lobby is currently running, making it much easier to find the kind of match you’re looking for.
What’s Next?
The Backrooms is another step toward making every Kisten Royale match feel unique. Different maps should encourage different strategies, different routes, and plenty of unexpected moments.
As always, we’re continuing to work on new content, gameplay improvements, networking, and quality-of-life features based on your feedback.
So if you discover a weird strategy, an even weirder bug, or somehow find the exit…
…let us know.
